Marc Wachsberger
When Marc was five years old he told a school teacher that he wanted to be a businessman, and not a fire fighter like some of his peers. At just 37 year old, he can tick that box. As the Managing Director and owner of the disruptive hotel and apartment group called The Capital, he is a humble guy with great vision.
Marc is married and has three children under 5 years old. He started his career at a corporate finance firm (which was a RMB breakaway company), where he brokered mergers and acquisitions in the mining sector. He later established his own private equity firm, Intamarket Equity & Advisory. After spotting a gap for affordable long term
accommodation in the Sandton area, he started up EAH (Executive Apartment Hotels), which formed the basis for the now rebranded business, The Capital Hotels & Apartments.
Since its inception in 2008, The Capital Hotels and Apartments has achieved outstanding success, as a leading supplier at the forefront of the corporate hotel industry. With over 1 500 rooms and an owner operator model, The Capital’s steep growth trajectory has gone from strength to strength, with the company now widely regarded as one of the largest providers of fully serviced luxury apartments and hotel rooms in the country. This prosperous South African company is actively managed by its owners
and steered by a strong equity-holding team in Buffet Investments, who share a 50% ownership with the Wachsberger family.
