Dawie Maree, an agricultural economist, joined FNB Agriculture on 1 February 2015 as Head: Information and Marketing. In his current role he often shares some insights on the current and future state of agriculture in South Africa to various audiences. He also provides expert inputs for internal bank committees in order make informed decisions regarding the agricultural industry. Previously he represented Agri SA, as senior economist) on various forums such as the Agricultural Trade Forum and various Business Unity South Africa committees. Dawie also attended various SACAU (Southern African Confederation of Agricultural Unions) workshops and conferences on issues of financing, food security, linking farmers to markets and other related issues in Africa.

Furthermore he also made several presentations on issues pertaining to agriculture and food security, both locally and internationally, to farmers, the media as well as special lectures to institutions outside of agriculture, such as the SA National Defence College. He graduated from the University of Pretoria with a M Sc (Agric) Agricultural Economics and obtained a Master in Management (MBA) (cum laude) at the University of Antwerp Management School in Belgium.
