Tim Fry joined Cadbury
South Africa in 1988 as a member of the sales team.
In 1990 he was appointed as
Area Manager for Schweppes South Africa, to support ABI, the largest Bottling and
Distribution Company in South Africa.
In 1994 he was appointed as
Regional Manager for Schweppes South Africa, reporting to the Managing
In 1996 he was appointed as
Exports Manager and Franchise Manager (Mozambique). Both functions were new areas of development for Schweppes South Africa
and he started up both functions for the company.
In 1999 he was seconded by Schweppes South Africa
to be General Manager of the Schweppes Bottling Company in Mozambique. The main
objective of his secondment was to project manage the plant into operation, create
a business structure and launch the business.
In 2000 he was appointed Manager for Cadbury South
Africa Export and Food Services Division with the task of creating a new export
strategy and developing key regional markets.
In 2004 Cadbury created the CECA (Cadbury East
& Central Africa) BU. This was part of the company’s strategy to move away
from Exporting to developing sustainable Adjacent Markets. Tim was appointed
Country Manager in 2004 responsible for Mozambique, Angola, Mauritius, Zambia,
Malawi, DRC & the Indian Ocean Islands.
In 2010 he was appointed as General Manager Central
East Africa, responsible for the Central and East African business and
In February 2014 Tim
decided to leave Mondelez to go into his own business as a consultant in
In July 2014 Tim accepted
an offer from Danone Southern Africa to take up the position of African
Expansion Director, an exciting role to develop the Danone business in sub
Saharan Africa. He currently holds this role.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Bcom) degree from the
University of South Africa where he majored in Economics and Industrial
Psychology as well as an Institute of Marketing Management (IMM) (3 year
Diploma) from Damelin College. Tim has one daughter and is a keen rugby and cricket
